On 19th March 2026, we were thrilled to host the Big Red Rising Stars Programme, a special initiative celebrating the incredible young people in our local schools. This programme recognises children who demonstrate excellent attendance, positive behaviour, and meaningful contributions to their schools or communities. These young people are true role models, and the event was all about celebrating their achievements.
Following the success of last year’s event with 70 children and accompanying parents, we were delighted to double the scale for 2026, welcoming 140 children with their parents to Blundell Park for a day to remember.
We collaborated with 14 local schools, who carefully selected the children receiving this reward in recognition of their fantastic achievements. Each child was gifted tickets to a Grimsby Town F.C. match, giving them a special matchday experience.
Before the big game, families attended our exclusive VIP Ticket Collection Event, where children were able to:
- Collect their official match tickets
- Meet first-team players
- Have a group photo taken on the pitch
- Meet Mighty Mariner & the Big Red Bear
- Enjoy a celebratory buffet
The excitement and pride on the children’s faces was unforgettable, and it was inspiring to see so many young stars being recognised for their contributions to their schools and communities.
Delivered in partnership with Grimsby Town F.C. and the Grimsby Town Foundation, the Big Red Rising Stars Programme continues to shine a spotlight on the next generation of role models, celebrating their achievements both on and off the pitch.
